NUSC RECREATION SOCCER |
Recreational soccer is where the kids play for fun regardless of
level. For those just starting out in the game, and for those who
simply want to run around with their friends, recreational soccer
is the perfect level. Soccer is probably the best sport available
for children to play. It is easy to learn, it is active, it is exciting.
Kids love to run around and kick a ball, and recreational soccer
lets them do that. For those children who develop a proficiency and
wish to learn more about the game, NUSC offers Advanced Recreational
soccer. |

MEMORANDUM FROM STATE REFEREE ASSOCIATION |
| A memorandum was released on October 4, 2007 by the State Referee Association regarding the interpretation of Law 11-Offside. All coaches and parents are highly advised to read this "new interpretation" to keep themselves educated regarding the game of soccer and to hopefully curb any inappropriate sideline behavior towards the officials. NUSC NEEDS ASSISTANCE WITH GOAL & EQUIPMENT SAFETY |
| The following message is one which was sent all soccer clubs which are members of the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (state-governing socccer association). On behalf of the VYSA President, the NUSC Board of Directors, Officers, and Staff would kindly request that all coaches and parents read this important message and please assist us in keeping all children from climbing goals or other potentially dangerous areas at all practice sites and at the Lake Taylor School Campus where matches are played. For Advanced and Select players, keep in mind the same guidelines when away matches are played. Please be assured that the NUSC Staff and Volunteers check the fields regularly for potentially dangerous situations; however, the club welcomes any volunteers or suggestions from the club membership. NUSC COACHES SHIRTS NOW AVAILABLE FOR ORDER |

At the request of several coaches, the Norfolk United Soccer Club, working in conjunction with Sports Zone, is making Jersey style collared shirts available for coaches to purchase at a cost of $23.00. These shirts will be the same color (forest green and white) as the advanced and select team uniforms. They will have the Norfolk United soccer sail boat logo included. Adult sizes available are S, M, L, XL & XXL. If you are interested in ordering one of these jerseys, please send or drop off a check payable to the Sports Zone to the Norfolk United Soccer Club office (located inside Sports Zone in Wards Corner) along with the order form.
