Sept, 7 2009: Recreations Uniforms are ready for purchase from our office on Colley Ave. All New recreation teams will wear the New Recreation Teal Green/White Tshirt combination.

07/12/09 Team/Tryout Update:
Exciting Changes in Norfolk Soccer for the Fall 09 Season:
We have formed 36 Advanced teams and 18 Select teams already from U9-U14 .
6 of our Advanced teams are U9-U11 'Academy Green' and 'Academy Blue' teams that are joining our new Academy program to prepare players to play Select Soccer next year. These teams will receive special coaching, fitness Training, technical and tactical instruction and Select team guest play opportunities to prepare them for the jump to select soccer.
In addition to our high number of Advanced teams (Second Highest in Hampton Roads), Norfolk now is 3rd in all of Hampton Roads in the number of select teams. Norfolk will field 18 Select teams for the Fall 09 Season. There is no coaching staff in the area as strong as the Norfolk Select/ACN Program and it is showing both in Select team formation and Norfolk Players returning to NUSC and ACN. ACN is the only Club in the area that has 100% paid professional coaches with backgrounds in soccer such as: played Division 1 Soccer or higher, been US Professional Team or Semi-professional players, and current Division 1 College Coaches. The only city in Hampton Roads to have Division I college coaches coaching youth Select teams is NUSC/ACN
06/02/09 Tryout Updates
We had over 720 players tryout this spring for Select and Advanced teams in Norfolk. That blows away our previous record. Congratulations to all Players.
ACN will announce their Select results shortly and NUSC will announce Advanced Results by the 21st of June.

The areas premier youth soccer club will hold Select and Advanced soccer tryouts between May 15 and June 1st Per the schedule under the tryouts tab. Please read the notes carefully. The Areas Only Division I College Soccer program Coaches will be present and all Norfolk Area Highschool coaches have been invited to attend.

1/22 Congratulation to Kevin Houcks U12 Blizzards. They have moved up to Select level soccer with ACN and on the way to great play under their new name RIVALDO. We will be watching our growing list of NUSC players (16 teams worth) who are jumping the next level of soccer and filling the first full set of Norfolk Select Soccer teams with ACN. Registration for coaching certification is open now. Forms are on our website under the forms tab. Fill out the form and drop it the office or email to our registrar at nuscreg@cox.net. NUSC pays the fee for you to get certified and all courses are Local.
No coaching experience is required for the F (U6-U10) Course and the E (U8-U12) Course. They teach you all you need to know to coach these age groups.
The D course is for coaches that have an E license and have coached for 1 year. We are committed to pay for your coaching courses because we have seen the results.

11/24/08 INDOOR SOCCER SIGNUPS OPEN - ALL TEAMS WELCOME (ALL AGES/OLD OR NEW/BOY OR GIRLS OR COED/ RECREATION OR ADVANCED)
12 WEEKS FO SOCCER FOR $20 PER PLAYER or $200 for a team of 10:
Our indoor soccer openings are about 1/2 full. We are receiving overwhelming support for this new program.
There is still time to sign your team up so contact your players and see if you have enough for a team (Minimum roster is 5 players - 6 for U10 and up). Coaches, please email our registrar at nuscreg@cox.net to reserve your team spot with for December practice or Jan/Feb league play.
Practice times are all through the month of December every Friday 6-9, Saturday 6-9 and Sunday 5-7. League play begins in January and ends in February. We have moved the time up on Sunday to accommodate younger teams.
We will guarantee each team at least 1-2 sessions in December, more if they are available. This is a great very low cost way to play soccer once per week and have your team ready for the spring. Please email us with questions you may have. The details have been sent out already but you may have more questions. This system is great fun and will be overseen by Coops personally.
The cost of $200 for the entire team for the season amounts to about $1.50 per player per week. We can not make it any more affordable for your team so come in and play all winter. Learn better foot skills and keep in shape.

WOOOOOOOOOW NUSC!! Of 34 Divisions in the TASL tournament, NUSC teams won 9 Divisions and are 2nd in 4 more divisions sweeping over a 3rd of all the divisions. Go NUSC powerhouse!!!! Our photographer, Frank was such a great photographer and he gave us options for different poses we had never seen before. 26 Sept 08: A Lake Taylor HS football game has been rescheduled for 2PM tomorrow.
Thus the main parking lot by the stadium will be closed to soccer parking at 12:30 PM.
All players and coaches playing at Field 2, 3, 4, , 8 or W, R, S, T in the afternoon should park behind the HS by the tennis courts.

27 Aug 08: NUSCs hot new Advanced uniform is in!! Managers and Coaches are invited to Premier Soccer on Colley Ave for a Preseason social between 5:00-8:00pm Tuesday 2 September to pick up fall uniforms. Pizza and Beer will be available. (To determine what age your child will be for the Fall 2008 season, merely determine what age your child will be on Aug 1 of the current school year. if your child is 6 years old on August first they will play "U7" (under 7) for the entire school year regardless of when they turn 7. If your child is 9 years old on 1 August they will play U10 (Under 10) for the entire school year regardless of when they turn 10 years old.)

1 Mar 08 The Spring 2008 soccer season begins on March 8.
SPRING 2008 RECREATION & LITTLE STRIKERS ONLINE REGISTRATION
NOTE: This is NOT the registration link for the Advanced or Select programs. Advanced & Select players must complete the tryout registration and process.
The Little Strikers program will meet once a week for seven weeks on either Monday or Wednesday (parent's choice) at Lakewood Park from 3:30 p.m.-4:30 beginning March 12 or 14. The Recreation Program conducts one to two team practices per week (determined by the coach) and games on Saturdays at the Lake Taylor Middle & High School Campus. Weekly clinics are also available for player development and goalkeepers during the season. Spring soccer matches for the Recreation program will take place on March 8, 15, 29, April 5, 12, 19, 26, and May 3.
The Spring Fling will be conducted in April (date to be determined) for ages U-7 to U-12. The U-5 to U-6 age groups will have regular-season matches during the Spring Fling. There will be no soccer matches on March 22 due to Easter Weekend holiday. More information regarding these programs will be posted on the website as it becomes available. NUSC Spring 2008 Soccer Photos
Team and individual soccer photos will be taken on Saturdays March 29 & April 5 by PhotoMagic. Coaches were given photo order forms in their team packets. St. Patrick's & St. Gregory's soccer teams should see their school coordinator regarding soccer photos through their school contracted photographer.
